PANNEL DISCUSSION

Novi Sad, 24th January 2022.

In the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, today the pannel discussion as the part of ’The Young and Heritage – tradition and future in the region of the cross-border collaboration’ project was held, co-financed by the European Union within Interreg – IPA programme of the cross-border collaboration between Hungary and Serbia.

On that ocassion, on behalf of The Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and the Relations with religious communities, the undersecretary Stanislav Radulović spoke, who, in the introductory part of his speech, quoted the great Serbian entrepreneur and patron Vladimir Matijević, who lived in Austria –Hungary in the end of 19th century and beginning of 20th century, and who, at the time being, said: ’It is not enough to know and die. There should somebody and something with who and with what.’

’The example of the cross-border collaboration via IPA projects of the European Union is a good and an always welcomed one, however, until it is realised, it only represents just ’the tool’, that was highlighted by Radulović and he also added that it was ’the tool’ which, with whose help, the people’s interaction was created – of the people of different nationalities, cultures, languages etc.

The director of the Gallery of Matica Srpska, Dr Tijana Palkovljević-Bugarski, the programme director of the Gallery of Matica Srpska, Danilo Vuksanović and the director of The Museum of Vojvodina, Dr Tijana Stanković – Pešterac talked about the significance and roles of the museum-gallery activity.

On behalf of Csongrád-Csanád county, via the video link, there was Adam Papp, who, on that ocassion, emphasized the importance of the digital era, the conservation of the older buildings as the special cultural heritage of one community in the mainstream era of the new construction trends, the protection of the heritage identity and education of the young, who were supposed to know much more about the issue, in order to continue with its preservation.

On behalf of ’European Affairs’ fund of AP Vojvodina, Ivana Đurica greeted the pannel discussion participants, highlighting that the project had the goal to further discuss the topics on the risks which cultural heritage was exposed to, the exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge and possibilities for encouraging the relations of society towards heritage.
