Novi Sad , 21st and 22nd March 2022 , in the Gallery of Matica Srpska , today and tomorrow , there is the third two-day workshop , named ’ The Protection and promoting of material cultural heritage ’ within the project of the cross-border collaboration Interreg IPA Hungary –Serbia , where the students from the Art Schools from Novi Sad and Szeged participated .

During the lecture , ’ Tourism and Cultural Heritage ’ by Prof. Dr. Igor Stamenković from the Department of Geography , Tourism and Hotel Management from the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad , Tijana Palkovljević – Bugarski, the Head of the Gallery of Matica Srpska , addressed the participants , who , on the behalf of a host, wished successful work to everybody and pointed out that such projects of international collaboration, broaden the knowledge of the significance of the protection of cultural heritage and, along with that , Mrs Tijana presented them with some information on the current exhibition .

The assistant of the Provincial Secretariat for Culture , Public Information and the Relations with religious communities , greeted the projects’ participants , on behalf of the Sectoral Ministry , and on that occasion , he emphasised that, traditionally good collaboration between Hungary and Serbia was the part of the national culture of both countries ,as the long-century nations , with the cosmopolitan orientation and with the special care towards the national heritage in all its segments .

During today’s workshop , the project’s participants visited the city , and Dr. Darko Polić, the architect from PC ’ Urbanism ’ , talked on the topic ’ The Architectural Heritage of Novi Sad ’ .

Dr. Tijana Palkovljević – Bugarski , the head of the Gallery of Matica Srpska , gave a lecture on the topic ’ The Role of a museum in cultural heritage ’ , and afterwards, the participants saw the permanent exhibition ’ The Novi Sad people choose ’ , later on, there was the workshop , led by MA Lolita Pejović and Jelena Bobić .

On the second day of the workshop , named ’The Protection of Museum art objects ( art pieces ) via the activities of conservation and restoration , the participants had a lecture on the topic on ’ Sculptures , Conservation and Protection ’ by Luka Kulić , the senior conservator from the Gallery of Matica Srpska .

MA Danilo Vuksanović talked about ’ The Conservation of the Art Pieces on paper ’ , while Darko Despotović , the senior conservator from The Gallery of Matica Srpska , talked about ’ The Conservation of Paintings ’ .

The workshop ’ The Preventive Protection of Art pieces ’ was held during the day , and it was presented by Željka Despotović and Ivana Rastović , followed by the exhibition tour of ’ The Migrations in Art – The Art of Migrations ’ in the Gallery of Matica Srpska .
